Grants available for midwifery postgraduate education

30 April 2010
Health Workforce New Zealand (HWNZ) is pleased to announce that grants are now available for midwifery postgraduate education (additional to the complex care clinical training).

The main purpose of the grants funding is to subsidise the cost of the student fees.

This postgraduate education may consist of a midwifery Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma; Masters or PHD qualification – or any single midwifery postgraduate paper.

The New Zealand College of Midwives (NZCOM) will be managing the application and selection processes on behalf of HWNZ.

Applications for grants for midwifery academic education undertaken in the period 1 July 2009 to 30 December 2010[1] should be submitted to NZCOM no later than 14 June 2010.

If you wish to apply for funding for the second semester of 2010 you will need to contact the education provider to find out about enrolment dates, entry criteria and the cost of student fees, as soon as possible.

Further information and the application form will shortly be posted on both the HWNZ and the NZCOM websites. If you have any questions please email NZCOM at nzcom@nzcom.org.nz  or phone (03) 377 2732.
