School Leavers - how do I know what sort of career would suit me?

Before you make a decision, take some time to do some thinking about your self, what options you have got, and what might sort of career might suit you.

Taking time to explore your skills, interests, qualities and values and how best these can be utilised in the workplace is really worthwhile. When you have done this, write up a plan to get you to where you want to go.

Health Careers - the District Health Board sponsored site profile a number of young people explaining why they chose to work in health, as well as giving some insight into the various jobs they have chosen.

Kia Ora Hauora - this website contains a range of helpful information specifically for Māori and provides access to health careers information as well as support to stay in study and increase understanding of the variety of employment opportunities in health.

Career Services - provides independent career information, advice and guidance. It is a government organisation and aims to provide you with access to the best possible careers support to achieve your life goals. To help you with this process the Career Services website has a wealth of activities, articles and labour market information that will assist you to make informed decisions about your career.
